Boston Globe calls Gloucester Stage Company's "THE MOST HAPPY FELLA" "gorgeous" with "convincing emotional portrayals"

Terry Byrne from the Boston Globe gives a stage review of “The Most Happy Fella” and quotes Mr.Frank Loesser has being “a hopeless romantic”.

The title character of Tony is performed with unadorned charm by Drew Pulver, who easily juggles Tony’s uncomplicated approach to life with a glorious baritone that captures all the intensity of his character, from his excitement over falling for his “Rosabella’’ to his extraordinary musical transition from anger to forgiveness in the aria “Nobody’s Ever Gonna Love You.’’

As the jaded San Francisco waitress Tony woos by mail, Jennifer Ellis matches Pulver’s sincerity with a gorgeous soprano that aches with longing in “Somebody, Somewhere’’ and “Please Let Me Tell You,’’ and then soars magnificently with Pulver in “How Beautiful the Days’’ and “My Heart is So Full of You.’’
