Heart & Soul Wins CINE Golden Eagle Award

Author: The CINE Golden Eagle

The CINE Golden Eagle is a coveted award in the broadcasting industry.  CINE is a non-profit organization that promotes excellence in filmmaking through awards and workshops.  Says Gottlieb, "Thanks to the entire creative team of 'Heart & Soul,' and especially to Jo Loesser and the entire Loesser family for believing in us."

The CINE Golden Eagle Film and Video Competitions, held each spring and fall, involve hundreds of volunteer media and content specialists who judge entries in several moving-image genres. Over the years, the judging procedure has evolved into an efficient multi-stage jury process to determine which productions are deserving of the coveted CINE Golden Eagle Award.

Renowned for the Golden Eagles it awards for excellence in documentary and other informational film and video production, CINE will celebrate its first half-century in 2007. Founded in 1957 by a consortium representing business, education, and government to depict American life and thought realistically for a global audience, CINE continues to recognize and foster the highest quality of non-theatrical film and video production through its semi-annual competitions. Along with these competitions, CINE offers development workshops for established film and video professionals, as well as mentoring programs for students. CINE works closely with the University Film & Video Association to encourage the work of student producers in film schools throughout the U.S. Recipients of CINE Golden Eagles include Steven Spielberg, George Lucas, John Lasseter, Barbara Kopple, Charles Guggenheim, Ken Burns, Martin Scorsese, Ron Howard, Robert Zemeckis, Mike Nichols, Robert Altman, George Lucas, Spike Lee, Mel Brooks and many others distinguished for their work with the moving image.
